Mobilization

The startup phase of getting people, equipment, and temporary facilities onto the site to begin construction.

Mobilization is the ramp-up that turns a signed contract into an active jobsite: setting up the field office (trailer), temporary power and fencing, staging areas, sanitation, and getting the first crews and equipment on site. It usually follows the Notice to Proceed.

Mobilization is often its own pay line and its own mini-project. A clean mobilization — utilities live, logistics planned, the site secured — sets the tone; a chaotic one costs time before a single permanent element is built.
